Just emptying my mobile of pictures I've taken recently. Some of the stuff we've been up to... :

Isaac just before his recent op. His energy levels are so much improved. It's really hard to catch him now.

Seth was recently a mascot at a Sheffield
Eagles Rugby League game. Great to see him run onto the pitch. But what a dull game RL is!

Thursday Lunchtime prayer and communion at Amer & Shazia's is a lovely time of being with my peeps.

Last week, a local London Rd takeaway owner was stabbed and killed outside his shop. He was a good friend of some of the M@slims I know. I don't know how strong a M@slim he was, but I thought the T-shirt left by a wellwisher very interesting.

Netto are selling Giant Jenga for only £20 at the moment. Get down there. It's perfect for our hangout when you need a game that requires no English and maximum fun to play and watch. The guys on Friday really took it to the top.

Sunday, we met for church. It was farewell to Jan & Jamie and Josie as they head for Khartoum to work with Medair for 2-3 years. I spoke on our status and privilege as the people of God -- here to be a light to the world. I like the diagram I used: ----->
We are the people of God in Christ, in direct line with Abraham and the universal promise of blessing he received, living in the midst of a condemned world called to be God's special treasure, a kingdom of priests, declaring his goodness to the nations. Just as an Israelite priest was to represent God to the nation, so Israel as a whole was called to represent God to all the other nations. They were meant to be different so the other nations would notice how good and great and wise and wonderful God is. That circle was meant to grow. (Sadly, we know their track record). The task of representing, declaring, showing forth his praises, is now our privilege as God's true Israel in Christ. Whoa!

After an amazing lunch (thx Dave & Cat), our family went to Bluebell Wood for a walk in the sun with "B" from Kurdestan. He loves nature. He learnt some English too.
Patience is needed by our community as we show God's goodness to this needy guy.
