reshaping the heart

We're thinking in our Pastoral Care course of the connections between the heart and behaviour.
Our problem is we choose to trust other interpretations instead of God's Word and we choose to worship other gods instead of God. Pastoral Care is about helping one another to believe the truth, expose the lies and bite down hard on God's Word. At the other level we also need to be appealing to the desires of each other's hearts.
How about brainstorming ways we can do that for one another?
How can we help each other to be worshippers from the heart of the true God?
