Loo paper and poetry

John and I were out again today on our 'walk and witness'. We pass this little man a lot- Ahmed the Smiley Shopman at this Afghani store. They'd just had a delivery of loo rolls. I'd never seen so many out on a street before - absolutely loads. We kept passing and asking if they had any toilet rolls for sale! The owner reckons they'll all be gone within two weeks! (Does he know something I don't?? Some prophetic insight into a dreaded outbreak of dysentry?).

Anyway, we got to meet up again with our barber "A" and the same customer he had in 2 weeks ago (his hair grows fast apparently). We've all agreed, we're going to have a Persian/Pakistani poetry evening at Khayam Tea Room- November 13th. I cleared it with Fred the owner tonight -he really likes the idea. We'll feature some Iqbal too- Pakistan's national poet -so will hopefully attract some Pakistani poetry lovers.
Our aim? To discuss life's big issues with thinking MB men in an acceptable and open environment.

In both worlds, everywhere are the marks of love;
man himself is a mystery of love.

-Allama Iqbal
