As we progress with adoption, we've had some correspondence with an old friend (who will be anonymous) who is a social worker in the adoption field. I thought his/her latest email comments were interesting! :

I am biased of course so feel free to ignore me - but the children I work with need Christian families - I get angry when Christians criticise us for placing children with single carers and same sex couples - but where are they???? Living their cosy little lives in nice houses with 2.4 children and a life and Church irrelevant to the sorts of families I work with.

Lord deliver us from being families and churches that are 'irrelevant' to the very ones whom Jesus welcomed- the marginalised and unwelcome.
