I'm working my way thru a most excellent read at the mo : "Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands", by Paul Tripp. So helpful. You have to read it.
The gospel really is all about change and we are to be about the business of helping others change with the gospel as we ourselves are transformed. It's the business of every Christian.

"God's wonderful mess", was a quote that hit me this eve as I read. Isn't that just what church is? Why do we try to make it a 'successful, everything's A-OK, smooth running operation', when it is patently not?! I am too guilty of wanting a problem-free ministry (i.e. 'people-free'). It's Christians who annoy, frustrate and discourage me. But isn't that how God is going to show to a watching world that he is real and loves and transforms us, his people. See how these people love one another. May they say it of us. Lord help me love my bros and sisses. Make me committed to loving them and sacrifice for their growth. May onlookers give glory to you.
